Our Needlecrafts group continues to thrive with an average attendance in the twenties. We are very informal and our members bring along a huge variety of crafts- whatever they happen to be working on at the time. We have seen knitting, crochet, all types of sewing, beading, lacemaking, parchment craft, rug making……. and enjoy admiring and learning from each other’s work. If we are stuck on a project, there is usually someone with the experience to help. Conversation flows freely and is not confined to our tea/coffee and biscuit break.

Our members have done work for various charities in the past. We sent children’s clothes after the Nepal earthquake and made squares and Linus blankets. Some currently knit hats and shawls for the local baby unit. 

We are grateful to Frances and Glennis who arrange our annual Christmas meal, which is usually at Sysonby Knoll in February, and also to Lynn who organises our refreshments.

We are not constrained by space in Burton Lazaars Village Hall so we are happy to accept new members. We are a very friendly group and new arrivals are invariably made very welcome.
