We meet twice a month at the Library in Melton Mowbray.
We read a set piece of text, translate and discuss any questionable parts of the text, this includes grammar and the meaning of words. Following this, homework is set for the next meeting and attention is paid to any specific exercises.
Usually, the last third of the meeting is spent solving a crossword puzzle.

2026 ANNUAL REPORT
We are a small, dedicated group of five members. We meet on the first and third Tuesdays of the month in the library from 11am to midday. Although this is a relatively short meeting, we accomplish quite a lot.
The first half hour is taken up by going over our homework in detail. It takes longer to complete the homework at home than to go over it in the library. The second part of the meeting is used to complete a puzzle in Latin. This is usually a crossword or word search, generally being quite difficult as we have moved from easy to advanced.
We have been studying the Cambridge Latin Course and are coming towards the end of it, having about enough remaining to last into 2027. Thereafter, we will probably select a book on Latin literature.
