Qi gong means energy (Qi) work (gong) and is practised in China and elsewhere in the World as part of Traditional Chinese Medicine for maintaining good health. Qi gong uses breathing techniques and quiet, gentle movement to help with mobility, balance and strength. Qi gong is a non-competitive activity. It is suitable for all ages, abilities and levels of fitness. The practice of Qi Gong is usually standing, but can be adapted to seated practice for people with poor balance or who feel uncomfortable standing. No previous experience is required or special clothing or equipment. Please just wear something comfortable and flat shoes.
